Start of Filming for Un Futuro Aprile

Synopsis:
A car bomb explodes in Pizzolungo, near Trapani. The target of the attack, Judge Carlo Palermo, survives by a miracle. Shielding him is Barbara Asta’s car, who is driving her two 6-year-old sons, Giuseppe and Salvatore, to school.
Almost nothing remains of their bodies. Their sister, Margherita, who turns 10 that day, was supposed to be in that car too. But her little brothers didn’t want to get dressed, so to avoid being late, she asked a friend for a ride. From that moment on, she became a survivor.
When she learned the judge’s name, Margherita thought it was his fault that her family had been destroyed. But as she grew up, she wanted to understand. She began following the trial against those who ordered the massacre. Her grief could not remain a private matter.
Today, she is an activist with Libera, fighting the mafia by telling the story of those innocent victims. Judge Palermo, on the other hand, left the judiciary due to the aftermath of the attack and ongoing threats.
They managed to meet only many years later, piecing together the fragments of their fate.

Director: Graziano Diana.
The film is based on the book “Sola con te in un Futuro Aprile” by Margherita Asta.
