Start of Filming for Un Futuro Aprile

Synopsis:
A car bomb explodes in Pizzolungo, near Trapani. The target of the attack, Judge Carlo Palermo, survives by a miracle. Shielding him is Barbara Asta’s car, who is driving her two 6-year-old sons, Giuseppe and Salvatore, to school.
Almost nothing remains of their bodies. Their sister, Margherita, who turns 10 that day, was supposed to be in that car too. But her little brothers didn’t want to get dressed, so to avoid being late, she asked a friend for a ride. From that moment on, she became a survivor.
When she learned the judge’s name, Margherita thought it was his fault that her family had been destroyed. But as she grew up, she wanted to understand. She began following the trial against those who ordered the massacre. Her grief could not remain a private matter.
Today, she is an activist with Libera, fighting the mafia by telling the story of those innocent victims. Judge Palermo, on the other hand, left the judiciary due to the aftermath of the attack and ongoing threats.
They managed to meet only many years later, piecing together the fragments of their fate.

Director: Graziano Diana.
The film is based on the book “Sola con te in un Futuro Aprile” by Margherita Asta.

TREATMENT:

In a small mountain village, two men speak in their local dialect about a crime committed nearby by another man—a stranger. His name is Fabrizio, and he and Alessia have recently separated. He still lives in the village where he had moved after meeting Alessia, while she has fled far away, up in the mountains, where she now runs an alpine refuge. Their young daughter, Erica, splits her time between her parents. Like many separated couples, they are trying to build a new family balance in the aftermath of their divorce.
After the separation, Fabrizio is trying to build a relationship with his daughter. Alessia, meanwhile, has broken away from her past and found peace and silence around her—a life completely different from the one she once had.
Every time Fabrizio has his daughter for the weekend, he takes her to the cable car that leads to the mountain refuge Alessia now runs. It’s a routine that’s been repeating every two weeks for months—a ritual that fills him with a sense of helplessness, a reminder that things are no longer under his control.
The separation has imposed harsh rules he never anticipated.
One day, against the agreement made with Alessia, Fabrizio decides to go up to the refuge to pick up Erica, spend the night there, and try to speak with his ex-wife.
Over time, Alessia has come to terms with the distance. Fabrizio, on the other hand, has harbored a growing sense of repressed anger and powerlessness, gradually convincing himself that the only way to reclaim the life he once had is to take back Alessia and Erica—by any means necessary.
And so, in the light of a new day breaking, a brutal crime against life and love is committed—one of those crimes that, just as the two men in the mountain village said at the beginning of our story, happens over and over again, so often that we’ve grown used to it.

Based on a true story

Flavia Insinna returns with a leading role to share the story of what would later be recognised as the first Paralympic games which took place in Rome in 1960.

A MUSO DURO by Marco Pontecorvo tells the story of Antonio Maglio, an enlightened physician who, taking a cue from Prof. Ludwig Guttmann’s studies and methodologies on the rehabilitation of paraplegics, in the late 1950s and early 1960s, gave hope and dignity to disabled people who, until then, lay in a hospital bed, hidden from others, from outside society.

Antonio Maglio’s name is unknown to most Italians. Yet thanks to him, his dedication and his stubbornness, the first Paralympic Games in historywas born, in which 400 athletes from 23 nations participated. For the first time the “paralytics” showed themselves to the world without shame, without embarrassment but with the knowledge that they could live a life like everyone else.

Fatima

FATIMA MOVIE GOES INTO PRODUCTION

Los Angeles, CA – September 4, 2018 – Origin Entertainment and Elysia Productions, in association with Rose Pictures announce the commencement of production for their film, FATIMA. The nine-week shoot will take place in several historic locations in Portugal. The film will portray the story of the supernatural events in Fatima that occurred over a six-month period and culminated with what is known as “the miracle of the Sun.”

The story is known worldwide largely because of three secrets which were revealed to three young shepherd children by Our Lady of Fatima during the visitations. It is amazing to realize that in 1917, before television, the internet or any reliable communication, 70 thousand people gathered at this remote site to witness the final apparition and its anticipated miracle.

“The Fatima story is unique in that it transcends religion and touches the hearts of all people, regardless of faith,” said Ganguzza. “The story’s universal appeal re-connects us all with our humanity and the belief that miracles happen.”

The production has already filmed the 100th Year Anniversary Mass in Fatima which took place in May of 2017. The Mass was celebrated by Pope Francis, who dedicated his papacy to Our Lady of Fatima. Portions of the footage will be used in the film.

James T. Volk, Chairman and Founder of Origin Entertainment, Stefano Buono and Maribel Lopera Sierra, founders of Elysia Productions, Dick Lyles, CEO of Origin Entertainment, Rose Ganguzza of Rose Pictures, Marco Pontecorvo, and Natasha Howes will produce. The project was developed by Origin and written by Marco Pontecorvo and Valerio D’Annunzio based on a story by Barbara Nicolosi. Pontecorvo will also direct.

“We have assembled a world class cast to appeal to the global audience for which this project is intended,” said Buono. Included in the lineup are Harvey Keitel, Sonia Braga, Goran Visnjic, Joaquim de Almeida, and Lucia Moniz.

The three shepherds will be played by Stephanie Gil, Alejandra Howard and Jorge Lamelas.

Ute Leonhardt and Marco Valerio Pugini of Rome’s Panorama Films are charged with the physical production of the film and Giuseppe Ciocciarelli, Nuno Martins and Gerardo Fernandes / Vivi Film Portugal will provide Portuguese Production Services.

Because of the script’s authenticity, the film has been designated Centenary Project by the Shrine of Fatima, which is the world’s leading authority on the apparitions. It is also endorsed and fully supported by The World Apostolate of Fatima which has chapters in more than 110 countries around the world. Last year alone 9 million people from the far corners of the world visited Fatima and it remains as one of the largest tourist sites in the world.
